Most of the people we consider heroic today were infact very ordinary people who happened to be in the right place at right time

The issue “Most of the people we consider heroic today were in fact very ordinary people who happened to be in the right place at right time” is a debatable one. Before getting into an in-depth analysis of the issue, the key factor in this issue is when does an ordinary man turns heroic? When a person proves a point to the people by doing something exceptional and makes an impact in his society, he is considered to be a hero.

In my opinion, an ordinary man turns heroic only when he knows about his strengths and weakness. The man who undergoes a lot of distress and pain turns hero someday that is mainly due to his perseverance.

According to the above issue, Abraham Lincoln, who is considered to be one of the greatest presidents that the world has ever seen was once a cobbler in his childhood days. He was humiliated and shattered psychologically as well as physically by many people. But it was his tenacity that made him to be a hero of all times. When we analyse his history of successes throughout his life, the only success he got was winning the presidential election. He had a lot of setbacks in his life. He failed in a business and was defeated in legislative race at 22.Then he lost in a congressional election at 34 .He failed in an effort to become a vice-president at 47. Finally, he was elected as the president of USA at 52. We all consider only his success that occurred at his later part of his life but we tend to forget the consistent persistence that the man showed during those setbacks.

“Life is like a ten-speed bicycle. Most of us have gears we never use”- says Charles Schultz, one of the famous cartoonists of the US. The above line symbolizes how actually heroes grab the opportunities that are given to them. The main reason behind the success of a real life hero is that they happen to be in the right place at the right time.

Consider a renowned Hollywood star Charlie Chaplin, who had a pathetic life story before becoming one of the greatest comedians of all time. He is best known for his slapstick comedies all over the world. His father died when he was nine years old and his mother became mentally retarded. Consider the state of the person who was in total grief and had to beg for his food. It was his self-confidence that brought him laurels in the world of film industry.

Albert Einstein, an extraordinary person who proposed the theory of relativity and had won many accolades, once worked as an assistant examiner earning a second-rate salary before becoming a world famous scientist. We adore those personalities because of their success but we don’t know the hurdles and struggles they had crossed over to become real life icons.

In conclusion, there are multitudinous stories of famous persons who were born in a mediocre family and raised their level to a greater extent. It’s because of their adroitness and determination towards achieving their goal. A real hero is the one who expands his strengths and minimizes his weakness. Therefore, people we consider heroic today were infact very ordinary people who happened to be at the right place at the right time.

BenQ Phones

BEN-Q Concept Phone:

NFC technology is currently mainly aimed at being used with mobile phones. There are three main use cases for NFC:

  • card emulation: the NFC device behaves like an existing contact less card
  • reader mode: the NFC device is active and read a passive RFID tag, for example for interactive advertising
  • P2P mode: two NFC devices are communicating together and exchanging information.

Plenty of applications are possible, such as:

  • Mobile ticketing in public transport — an extension of the existing contactless infrastructure.Such as Mobile Phone Boarding Pass.
  • Mobile Payment the device acts as a debit/ credit payment card.
  • Smart poster — the mobile phone is used to read RFID tags on outdoor billboards in order to get info on the move.
  • Blue-tooth pairing — in the future pairing of Blue-tooth 2.1 devices with NFC support will be as easy as bringing them close together and accepting the pairing. The process of activating Blue-tooth on both sides, searching, waiting, pairing and authorization will be replaced by a simple "touch" of the mobile phones.

Other applications in the future could include:

  • Electronic Ticketing — airline tickets, concert/event tickets, and others
  • Electronic Money
  • Travel Cards
  • Identity Documents
  • Mobile Commerce
  • Electronic Keys — car keys, house/office keys, hotel room keys, etc.
  • NFC can be used to configure and initiate other wireless network connections such as Blue-Tooth, Wi-Fi or Ultra wide band

A patent licensing program for NFC is currently under development by Via Licensing Corporation, an independent subsidiary of Dolby Laboratories.
